Shisha Culture
Shisha (hookah/water pipe) is a central part of Dahab's evening culture. Almost every restaurant and cafe on the waterfront serves it. Expect to pay 100–200 EGP for a shisha session. It's completely normal to sit for 2–3 hours over one shisha and several teas — the Egyptian way to spend an evening.

What is there to do in Dahab at night?
Dahab evenings are relaxed rather than wild: sundowners on the Masbat waterfront, a long dinner, shisha and tea on a seafront terrace, quiz or live-music nights at The Funny Mummy, DJ and themed parties at Shaman, and occasional beach parties. For something different, book a desert stargazing trip or a Bedouin dinner outside town.
Does Dahab have good nightlife?
Good, but low-key. There are no mega-clubs like Sharm El Sheikh — instead you get friendly bars, waterfront shisha and the odd DJ night. If you want big clubs, Sharm (about 1.5 hours away) is the place; for easy, sociable evenings, Dahab is ideal.
What time do bars close in Dahab?
Most bars and waterfront venues wind down around 01:00–02:00. Event nights at places like Shaman can run later. Sundowners start around 17:00–18:00 in winter.
Can you drink alcohol in Dahab?
Yes. Beer, wine and cocktails are served openly in bars and many restaurants (beer roughly 80 EGP, cocktails around 150 EGP). Drink on the terraces rather than the public beach, and dress a little more modestly walking through town at night.
