Is Dahab worth visiting?
Yes — especially if you dive, snorkel, kitesurf or just want a cheap, laid-back beach base with real character. Dahab pairs world-class Red Sea diving (the Blue Hole, the Canyon) with desert day trips (Mt Sinai sunrise, the Coloured Canyon), a windy lagoon that's one of the world's easiest places to learn kitesurfing, and a barefoot seafront of cheap cafés. It's the anti-resort: come for the water and the calm, not for nightclubs and big hotels.
How many days do you need in Dahab?
Four to five days is the sweet spot: two on the water (a dive day at the Blue Hole plus a snorkel or kitesurf day), one desert day (Mt Sinai sunrise or the Coloured Canyon), and a day or two to do nothing on the seafront. Divers doing an Open Water course need 3–4 days for that alone, so a full week is ideal. Many travellers plan 5 days and end up staying two weeks.

Dahab's nights are low-key: seafront restaurants and shisha lounges, a handful of bars with live music and fire shows, and cocktails at Drift on the Blue Hole road.
