About this experience
Dahab's lagoon is on every kitesurfer's list of the world's best learning spots: a huge, flat, waist-deep bay with reliable thermal wind and nothing to crash into. Beginners can practise body-dragging and water starts while standing up, which makes progress fast and safe. Lessons are run by IKO-certified instructors with radio helmets so they can coach you on the water. Already ride? Book gear rental or an advanced session instead.

Is the lagoon really good for beginners?
Exceptionally — it's flat, shallow enough to stand across most of it, and the wind is steady. It's far safer and faster to learn here than in waves.
When is the windy season?
Wind is reliable from roughly April to October, with strong thermal afternoons. There's usually rideable wind year-round.
